A peek into Shekhawati, Rajasthan by Suneet Varma and
presented by BMW
The sixth edition of BMW India
Bridal Fashion Week 2014 in association
with AZVA at DLF Emporio, New Delhi on day 3 saw a
captivating collection by the enigmatic designer Suneet Verma and presented by
BMW.
Shekhawati, one of the oldest and most beautiful hand painted living cities in the world with a rich history of over 350 years of architecture, decoration and sheer magnificence was the inspiration behind the collection. The collection was traditional Indian with a modern twist. The designs had a lot of reds and fuschia pinks that lie at the very heart of Rajasthan. Mirrorwork embellishment with large borders in thread embroidery, stark white and ivory with color on color aari embroidery and dark navy and cobalt blue with antique and burnt golds and copper thread embellishments. The collection also had hand made accessories in beaten metallic golds in exaggerated earrings and hair pins.
The
gorgeous Kangana Ranaut looked exquisite walking down the ramp in an exemplary
ensemble by the designer.
On their association with Suneet Varma, Mr Frank Schloeder, Director Marketing BMW Group India, said “BMW Design is the beginning of an emotional experience. Over many decades, a variety of design elements have formed the unique DNA of BMW as defined by its distinctive proportions, surfaces and details.
